Area Students Among 40 Receiving Missouri State Fair and the Youth in Agriculture Scholarships


This week, Missouri State Fair director Mark Wolfe announced that 40 youths from across the state from among exhibitors at the Missouri 4-H and FFA State Fair have been selected to receive grants from the Missouri State Fair and the Youth in Agriculture (YIA) -Committees to receive.

Among those 40 students are one who will receive a $ 2,500 scholarship and six who will receive a $ 1,500 scholarship.

Isaac Rhode of Stewartsville is awarded a $ 2,500 scholarship. Those receiving a $ 1,500 scholarship are Mason Baxter of Chillicothe, Libby Endicott of Gallatin, Dillon Gilmer of Polo, Eli Henke of Princeton, Lillian Smith of Braymer, and Victoria Washburn of King City.

Scholars were assessed for their participation in the Missouri State Fair, their grade point average, their community engagement, and their leadership roles.

Since 1992, the YIA committee has awarded 715 scholarships totaling $ 797,500.

The scholarships are funded by the generosity of sponsors and buyers from Youth in Agriculture, who sell the cattle sold during the annual Sale of Champions. This year’s auction will take place on Saturday, August 21st.

Quincy Wiegand of Cairo was selected to receive the $ 5,000 platinum scholarship offered by YIA supporters.

Alexis Lydia Plackemeier of Silex has been selected to receive the $ 2,500 grant sponsored by Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners / Sydenstricker Genetics.

Schyler Angell from Centralia, Lauren Crutsinger from Whitewater, Isaac Rhode from Stewartsville, and Avery Schiereck of El Dorado Springs were selected to receive the US $ 2,500 Scholarships offered by the Missouri State Fair Foundation.
