Daviess County is now a “hot spot” in the state of Missouri due to the positivity rate of COVID-19. Daviess County’s Department of Health has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases, with 10 new cases in one week. One of these cases is considered a breakthrough case.
A breakthrough case is defined as a person who tests positive for COVID-19 after their 14-day full vaccination date. Health Department officials say groundbreaking cases are expected. Residents are further urged to protect themselves and those around them regardless of vaccination status by washing hands frequently, trying to stay 6 feet from people in different households, or wearing a mask when possible.
