St. Joseph Man Wanted in Andrew County Murder of 10-Year-Old Child

Andrew County authorities are looking for information on the location of 37-year-old Donald James Tipton. Tipton is listed on the court records of his St. Joseph residence.
Tipton is charged with first degree murder in the death of a 10 year old child on November 30, 2020.
According to the billing document. Tipton is said to have beaten and strangled the child and caused the death. Additional charges against Tipton say he put a gun barrel in the child’s mouth about a month before the death and stuffed a sock into the child’s mouth that same day.
Domestic violence charges suggest that the child and Tipton were either family or household members who were related by blood or marriage.
In addition to the murder and domestic violence charges, Tipton is charged with endangering a child’s well-being and abusing a child.
The Andrew County Associate Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant without a bond.
